Sparkle Sanctuary

Lived-experience led

Sparkle Sanctuary is a free to attend social space, taking place on the last Sunday of the month at The Proud Place, Manchester. Sanctuary is a safe space for the trans & gender diverse community, facilitated by our trans & gender diverse team. 

​

 All sessions are sober and sensory-friendly, with wellbeing and creativity at the forefront. A hot meal, snacks and soft drinks are provided for attendees.

Accessibility​

  • The Proud Place is accessible by wheelchairs including power chairs

  • There are gender neutral toilets, including an accessible toilet

  • A quiet sensory space is available for those who might need to decompress

  • Masks and hand sanitiser available

  • The Proud Place is a sober venue

  • Friendly volunteers on hand to help all afternoon

  • Different food options available, including vegetarian, vegan, meat, and gluten free

  • Sanctuary is a nut-free event

"There is nowhere else like it for my son who is an 8 year old trans lad and his 6 year old brother. The atmosphere is so relaxed and friendly. As a cis woman I feel honoured to be so welcomed into your safe space. Volunteers go above and beyond. We felt so spoilt and cared for."

Upcoming Sanctuary Sessions

Sanctuary takes place from 12.00pm - 4.00pm at The Proud Place, Manchester on the last Sunday of the month.

Sanctuary is free to attend, but we require our attendees to book a ticket. You can subscribe to Eventbrite to stay up to date.
