The Sparkle Ball
cancelled for 2023
The Sparkle Ball is cancelled for 2023
We are extremely sad to share that this year The Sparkle Ball is cancelled.
2023 has proven a challenging year for the charity, having not fully recovered from the pandemic and been impacted by continuing economic instability.
It has been a very difficult decision to make, recognising that it is letting down so many of you who regard The Sparkle Ball as the signature event of The Sparkle Weekend. We too are very sad by this outcome.
We have a new team who have joined this year with the aim of modernising the charity, expanding our fundraising channels, and securing the future of Sparkle - The National Transgender Charity, while remaining true to our original grassroots experience.
Before we can continue with The Sparkle Ball, we have a responsibility to ensure the charity is once again financially resilient and can withstand future adversity.
We know how disappointed so many of you will be, but hope that you can support our decision to ensure the charity rebuilds after a number of turbulent years. It's important that we see The Sparkle Weekend and associated events continue for the years to come.
We will issue refunds in full, and we hope to see you all at The Sparkle Weekend for three days of live entertainment, comedy, DJ's, wellbeing activities and workshops, plus so much more.
Finally, we're asking those who can to please get Sparkle Weekend tickets in advance which we've introduced to help capture metrics. The event remains free to attend, but the metrics support future funding bids to secure critical income for the charity. The tickets can be booked here.
The Friday night is The Sparkle Weekend Opening Night with comedy in the park from Jordan Gray and Ben Hodge. Access is 18+ as some of the comedy is mature humour. Tickets for the Friday night can be booked here.
We look forward to seeing you all soon,
The whole team at Sparkle x

This year's theme:
The Garden of Love 🌸
Sparkle – The National Transgender Charity invites you to spend the night with us in the stunning Grade II listed ballroom of the Kimpton Clocktower Hotelon Saturday 8th July.
Only a short walk from this year’s Sparkle Weekend in Sackville Gardens, the quintessential grand hotel, the Kimpton Clocktower, welcomes our friends and allies for an indulgent evening of food, entertainment, laughter, and dancing.
Guests will enjoy a welcome drink on arrival while being serenaded by the melodic tones of Kimmie Smith, before enjoying a lavish three-course meal.
Further entertainment will be provided by ‘Pride’s Got Talent 2022’ winner, singer Alexa Vox, astonishing burlesque beauty Coco DeVille, and local comedian Red Redmond (Dead Cat Comedy).
Following a prize raffle, we’ll dance the night away.
You can choose to end your evening there, or carry on partying at Canal Street's late-night venues, just around the corner.
An extravagant night of delectable food, acclaimed performers, and a chance to win fantastic prizes donated by local artists and businesses – for only £49.50 plus booking fee.
As we continue to rebuild from the pandemic, please also consider our new ticket ranges which include small donations to support the charity.
We've also launched a Gifted Ticket - allowing people to purchase an additional ticket for low-income trans and non-binary people. The ticket can be offered to a guest of your choice, or we can offer it to someone in the community we know has always wanted to join us at the Sparkle Ball.
We look forward to seeing you there!
